The functionality described on this reference page is aligned with the ISO C standard. Any conflict between the requirements described here and the ISO C standard is unintentional. This volume of POSIX.1-2024 defers to the ISO C standard.

These functions shall compute the complex power function , with a branch cut for the first parameter along the negative real axis.

These functions shall raise floating-point exceptions if appropriate for the calculation of the parts of the result, and may also raise spurious floating-point exceptions.

These functions shall return the complex power function value.

No errors are defined.

None.

Permitting spurious floating-point exceptions allows cpow ( z, ) to be implemented as ( ( z)) without precluding implementations that treat special cases more carefully.
